Google AdWords

Remarketing

We use Google Remarketing Tags. This is a service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; hereafter referred to as “Google”). Google uses cookies, text files that are stored on your computer and which enable analysis of how you use the site. Information generated by the cookie about your use of this site (including your IP address) is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The final three characters of your IP address are removed by Google, and IP addresses therefore cannot be linked to individual users. Google adheres to the US Safe Harbor Privacy Principles and is registered with the US Department of Commerce Safe Harbor Program. Google will use this information to evaluate your usage of the website, to generate reports about website activity for the website operator and to provide other services relating to the use of the website and of the internet. Google will also transfer this data to third parties as required by law or where third parties are processing the data on behalf of Google. Third party vendors, including Google, place advertisements on websites. Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to place advertisements on the basis of a user’s previous visits to our website. Google will never associate your IP address with any other Google data. It is open to you to withdraw your consent to the collection and storage of data at any time with effect for the future. You can deactivate Google cookies via the Google Ads Preferences page. However, we would point out that if you do so, you may not be able to take full advantage of all the functions on our website. By using this website you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purpose set out above. It is open to you to withdraw your consent to the collection and storage of data at any time with effect for the future. Further information on Google’s terms and conditions can be found here.

Conversion Tracking

Our website also uses Google Conversion Tracking, which installs a cookie on your computer if you have been directed to our website via a Google advertisement. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used to acquire personal identification data. If a user visits a particular page of our website and if the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google will be able to see that the user clicked on the advertisement and has been forwarded to that page. Each Google AdWords client is allocated a different cookie, and so cookies cannot be tracked via AdWords clients’ websites. Information collected by conversion cookies is used to provide aggregate conversion statistics to AdWord clients who use conversion tracking. Clients are informed about the total number of users who have clicked on the advertisement and been forwarded to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information enabling them to identify individual users. If you do not want to participate in the tracking process, you can decline the installation of cookies for this purpose – for instance, by adjusting your browser settings to disable the cookie functionality. You can also disable conversion tracking cookies by adjusting your browser settings to block cookies from the “www.googleadservices.com” domain.

Facebook

This website uses social plugins (“plugins”) from the social networking site facebook.com operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). Plugins are identified by one of the Facebook logos or by the wording “Facebook Social Plugin”.

When you call up one of our webpages that includes a plugin of this type, your browser establishes a direct connection with the Facebook servers. Facebook sends the plugin’s content directly to your browser, which integrates it into the page. This means that we have no influence over the scope of data that Facebook obtains via this plugin and we are able to inform you about it only on the basis of our current state of knowledge.

The integration of the plugin means that Facebook is informed that you have accessed the corresponding page of our website. If you are logged in to Facebook, Facebook will be able to associate your visit with your Facebook account. If you interact with the plugins, for example by using the Like button or posting a comment, the corresponding information will be transmitted by your browser directly to Facebook and saved there. If you are not a member of Facebook it may still be possible for Facebook to find out your IP address and store it.

For information on the purpose and scope of data collection, further processing and use of your data by Facebook, your rights and your options for protecting your privacy, please see Facebook’s privacy policy.

If you are a member of Facebook and do not wish Facebook to collect data concerning you from our website and link it with your data as stored on Facebook, you will need to log out of Facebook before visiting our site.
It is also possible to block Facebook social plugins by means of browser extensions such as “Facebook Blocker”.

Facebook Remarketing

We integrate remarketing tags from the Facebook social network, 1601 South Carolina Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA, into our website. When you visit our site, the remarketing tag establishes a direct link between your browser and the Facebook server. This informs Facebook that you have viewed our site using your IP address. Facebook is therefore able to associate your visit to our webpages with your user account, and we can use the information received to display Facebook Ads. Please note that as the site provider we have no knowledge of the content of any data transferred or of its use via Facebook. Further information on this topic is available in Facebook’s privacy policy at https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/.

Conversion tracking with the Facebook-Pixel

Subject to your consent we will install the Facebook Pixel provided by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”) on our website. This enables us to track the activity of our users after they have seen or clicked on a Facebook advertisement, and to assess the effectiveness of Facebook advertising for statistical and market research purposes. Data collected in this way are anonymous and do not give us access to personal information about individual users. However, such data are stored and processed by Facebook, and we provide you with such information as is available to us on this point. Facebook is able to link such data with your Facebook account and use it for its own promotional purposes, in accordance with the Facebook data use policy https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/. It is open to you to enable Facebook and its partners to place advertisements on Facebook and elsewhere. To this end, a cookie may be installed on your computer. Consent may only be given by users who have declared that they are older than 13 years old. If you are younger than this we suggest you seek advice from your parents or carers. If you wish to withdraw your consent please click here https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=ads
