Use of data in respect of Facebook services
Facebook social plugins
This website uses social plugins (“plugins”) from the social networking site facebook.com operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). Plugins are identified by one of the Facebook logos or by the wording “Facebook Social Plugin”. Here you can find a summary of the Facebook plugins and what they look like.
When you call up one of our web pages that includes a plugin of this type, your browser establishes a direct connection with the Facebook servers. Facebook sends the plugin’s content directly to your browser, which integrates it into the page. This means that we have no influence over the scope of data that Facebook obtains via this plugin and we are able to inform you about it only on the basis of our current state of knowledge.
Integrating plugins means that Facebook receives the information that your browser has opened any of our web pages, even if you do not have a Facebook profile or are not currently logged into Facebook. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted directly from your browser to a Facebook server (potentially in the USA) and stored there. If you are logged in to Facebook, Facebook will be able to associate your visit to your website with your Facebook account. If you interact with the plugins, for example by using the Like button or posting a comment, the corresponding information will be transmitted by your browser directly to Facebook and saved there. The information is also published on your Facebook profile and shown to your Facebook friends. If you are not a member of Facebook it may still be possible for Facebook to find out your IP address and store it.
If you are a member of Facebook and do not want Facebook to be able to link the data collected from our website directly to your Facebook profile, you need to log out of Facebook before visiting our website.
You can also block Facebook social plugins using add-ons from third parties for your browser, such as the “Facebook blocker”: Please find out about how your browser uses social plugins and cookies via the settings. You can obtain this information from the manufacturer of your browser. Moreover, third parties also offer so-called browser extensions and plugins with which you can configure how your browser handles cookies and personal information.
Conversion tracking with the Facebook Pixel
We use the Facebook Pixel provided by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”) on our website. This enables us to track the activity of our users after they have seen or clicked on a Facebook advertisement, and to assess the effectiveness of Facebook advertising for statistical and market research purposes. Data collected in this way are anonymous and do not give us access to personal information about individual users. However, such data are stored and processed by Facebook, and we provide you with such information as is available to us on this point. Facebook is able to link such data with your Facebook account and use it for its own promotional purposes, in accordance with the Facebook data use policy https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/. It is open to you to enable Facebook and its partners to place advertisements on Facebook and elsewhere. To this end, a cookie may be installed on your computer.
Consent may only be given by users who have declared that they are older than 13 years old. If you are younger than this, we suggest you seek advice from your parents or carers. Please click here if you would like to withdraw your consent: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=ads
